Project background and objectives
In June 2024, TESLA Energy Group successfully handed over a battery storage system with 300 kW of power and 360 kWh of capacity to SEPO SOLAR Plus. The project was delivered to the specific requirements of the end customer, KOBERCE BRENO, which had a 900 kWp photovoltaic (PV) plant built. The aim of the installation was to cover the energy consumption of the entire site, with the option of selling surplus energy to the distribution grid.
In view of market developments, especially falling spot prices and increasingly frequent negative electricity prices, the customer decided to implement an efficiently designed battery system. This strategy optimises energy use and improves the economic return on the investment.
Technical solution
For this project, a battery storage system with 300 kW of power and 360 kWh of capacity was designed and implemented. The system is equipped with high-efficiency (1C) liquid-cooled CATL battery cells, allowing a full charge or discharge within one hour. It also features a battery inverter with an integrated transformer, which means the entire site can be backed up for up to two hours in the event of a power outage.
Installed system specification
- Power: 300 kW
- Capacity: 360 kWh
- Battery technology: liquid-cooled CATL cells (1C)
- Containerised solution: insulated technology container supplied at the customer's request in KOBERCE BRENO corporate colours
- Main functions: OFF-Grid, Saving, Peak-shaving, Spot-trading
Key features and advantages
One of the customer's key requirements was the ability to control charging and discharging dynamically based on current electricity spot prices. TESLA Energy Group therefore supplied its own EMAN 24 software, which, combined with the LOXON supervisory system, enables optimised energy trading. This intelligent system maximises savings while generating additional revenue from trading on the electricity market, significantly shortening the payback period of the entire investment.
Outcome and customer benefits
Thanks to the combination of an advanced battery storage system, a photovoltaic plant and intelligent software control, KOBERCE BRENO has gained full control over its energy strategy. The system not only optimises consumption and reduces dependence on the distribution grid, but also generates additional profit from electricity trading on the spot market. Implementing this solution is therefore a significant step towards greater energy self-sufficiency and economic efficiency for the entire site.
