Project background and objectives
INFINITY GROUP a.s., based in Vígľaš, Slovakia, is focused on improving the energy efficiency of its site. As part of modernising its energy management, a GAMA 186 battery storage system was implemented, designed to work alongside a 300 kWp photovoltaic plant. The aim of the solution is to optimise the use of generated energy, manage peak demand effectively and ensure high power quality.
Solution and technical specification
The selected GAMA 186 battery storage system offers the following key parameters:
- Power: 100 kW
- Capacity: 186 kWh
Despite its compact power rating, the solution was chosen for its sufficient energy storage capacity and effective peak demand management. It is ideally suited to the specific needs of the site, where maximising the use of solar-generated energy is essential.
Functionality and benefits
- Peak demand optimisation (peak shaving): the storage system effectively balances the load on the distribution grid, helping to reduce costs and improve supply stability.
- Maximum use of generated energy: surplus solar energy is stored efficiently, increasing the site's energy self-sufficiency.
- Improved power quality: advanced control of battery charging and discharging ensures a stable, high-quality energy supply.
- Future expansion: the system's flexibility makes it possible to add further storage or expand the system as the company's needs grow.
Control software and integration
Modern control software was implemented to ensure seamless integration between the battery storage system and the photovoltaic system. It monitors battery status, optimises charging and discharging, and ensures that generated energy is used efficiently on site. This delivers maximum efficiency and safety for the entire system.
Outcome and outlook
By implementing the GAMA 186 battery storage system, INFINITY GROUP a.s. has gained a modern, efficient and sustainable solution that:
- optimises energy consumption and reduces peak demand costs,
- ensures maximum use of solar energy through close integration with the photovoltaic plant,
- increases the energy self-sufficiency and stability of the entire system,
- offers options for future expansion in line with current and future needs.
The project is an inspiring example of how modern technology can be used to improve efficiency and sustainability in energy management.
