End-to-end delivery of a battery system
The project was conceived as an end-to-end delivery of a battery energy storage system ready for safe, long-term operation in combination with a diesel generator.
The delivery included:
- supply of a containerised battery storage system,
- on-site installation of the technology,
- commissioning of the battery system,
- implementation of a Siemens supervisory control system,
- operator training,
- handover of technical, operating and user documentation,
- technical assistance and consulting during commissioning,
- BESS operational monitoring.
Technical solution
The core of the project is a containerised TESLA battery storage system with 3 MW of power and a total capacity of 6.7 MWh.
Key technical parameters
- power: 3 MW,
- capacity: 6.7 MWh,
- design: TESLA BESS containerised battery storage with CATL cells,
- supervisory control: Siemens,
- location: Kuřim near Brno.
The containerised design concentrates the key technology components in a compact energy unit while ensuring easy integration into the infrastructure of the specific site.
Siemens supervisory control
An important part of the project is the Siemens supervisory control system, which provides coordinated control and monitoring of the battery storage system's operation.
Linking the battery technology with an industrial control system lays the foundation for reliable, automated and controlled operation of the entire energy facility.
From installation to commissioning
The project did not end with the supply of the technology itself.
The contract also included complete on-site installation of the battery system and its commissioning, including handover of the necessary technical and operating documentation.
The operating staff were also trained to run the equipment.
Monitoring and technical support
The delivery also includes BESS monitoring and technical support related to commissioning the system.
As a result, the project covers the entire process – from design and supply of the technology through installation and commissioning to support during its subsequent use.
Project outcome
The result is a 3 MW / 6.7 MWh battery storage system that combines TESLA's own containerised BESS solution with a Siemens supervisory control system.
The Kuřim project demonstrates the ability to deliver to the customer a complete battery system – from the technology solution through installation and commissioning to monitoring, documentation and operator support.
